Each passage is a few sentences long. After it come statements about it. The candidate marks each one true, false or cannot say. "Cannot say" is right when the passage does not give enough information. People who fill gaps with guesses tend to miss these.

Four kinds of question, each with its own score

Statement questions check careful reading. Argument questions ask which reason best supports a claim. Main-point questions ask what the passage is mostly about. The written summary checks whether the candidate can say it back in their own words.

Verbal reasoning test: common questions

Is this a vocabulary test?
No. Passages use everyday business language. The questions check whether the candidate can tell what the text says, what it does not say and which argument holds up.
What does "cannot say" mean?
It means the passage does not give enough information to call the statement true or false. It is the answer people most often get wrong.
How is the written summary scored?
The AI compares it with your model answer and gives a score out of 10 with a short reason. You can switch any written question to keyword matching or score it by hand.
Can we use our own documents as passages?
