Tab-switch checks were built for candidates who opened another website. Today candidates get answers from AI side panels, people off camera and scripts, and a tab check sees none of them.

Before an AI video interview, the candidate tests their camera, microphone and network. Then they follow two short prompts on screen, picked at random from four, such as blink or turn your head left. A photo, a looping video or a face on another screen cannot pass. The selfie from this step is used to check the face for the rest of the call.

Before the first question, candidates see a list of what is checked. They turn on their camera and microphone themselves. Nothing is hidden from them. If they leave the tab or fullscreen, a bar at the top of the screen tells them it was recorded, with a running count.

While the candidate talks, Goodfit checks that their face is on screen and that it is the only one. A second person walking into the frame is logged with the time. A few minutes after the call ends, Goodfit looks at frames from the whole recording. It can tell a quick glance at the desk from eyes going back to the same spot again and again.
RecordingBrowser add-ons like Monica, HARPA and Sider can answer questions in a side panel. The candidate never leaves the tab, so tab checks miss them. Goodfit finds these tools in the screen recording and names them. It also says whether each tool was used or only installed.

Some candidates read prepared or AI-written answers aloud. Goodfit checks the transcript for signs of reading, like a phrase said twice word for word. A second check looks only at timing, like a long silence and then a long, perfect answer. An answer is flagged only when both checks agree.

Someone off camera can whisper answers or speak for the candidate. Goodfit compares lip movement with the audio across the whole call. It also counts how many different voices are on the recording. The report shows how much of the call was in sync.

Goodfit logs what happens in the browser during interviews and tests. Tests pause until the candidate goes back to fullscreen. Interviews keep running, so nobody is cut off mid-answer. A bar at the top of the screen tells the candidate each time they leave, with a running count.

A webcam sees a face. It cannot see a second screen, notes beside the keyboard or the candidate’s hands. Turn on the second camera for a hiring stage, and candidates scan a QR code with their phone. They record a 10-second scan of the room. Then they stand the phone beside the laptop, facing the screen and keyboard.
