Questions hiring teams ask about Employee referrals

Who can submit a referral?
Anyone with an email on a domain you have approved. You can add multiple domains for parent companies, subsidiaries, or recent acquisitions. People outside those domains cannot submit, so there is no risk of public leakage of internal roles.
How do referred candidates get screened?
Through the same automated flow as any other applicant - AI interview, assessment, scorecard. Referrers do not get a shortcut, and candidates do not feel they got a back-door interview. The only difference is that the referrer name and team appear on the candidate record, and you can choose to auto-shortlist strong referrals into the recruiter queue.
Can we set up tiered rewards by role or seniority?
Yes. Reward rules can be configured per role family and per milestone (shortlist, offer, joining, retention). The payout report exports cleanly so finance does not need a separate spreadsheet to reconcile.
What happens to the referrer if their candidate is rejected?
Referrers see every status change on their dashboard - including a rejection with a reason. The aim is to keep them informed without putting recruiters on the hook for individual feedback calls. It also helps employees refer better candidates next time.
Does it integrate with our ATS?
