How much does HireVue cost?
HireVue does not list prices on its website. Its pricing page says the platform is built for mid-market and enterprise employers and asks you to talk to sales. So every number you find online comes from buyers or from other vendors.
Vendr, a service that negotiates software deals for companies, reports an average HireVue contract of $49,855 a year, with the largest around $145,000. That figure comes from only 5 deals, so treat it as a rough guide. Pin, a recruiting software company, estimates that HireVue’s entry package starts near $35,000 a year.
We checked each source below on October 16, 2026. Two of them sell products that compete with HireVue, and so do we. Ask HireVue for a written quote before you budget.

What do you get from HireVue for the price?
HireVue sells several products that you can buy together or one at a time. Its platform page lists live and recorded video interviews, an AI interviewer meant to replace phone screens, skill and behavior assessments, a chat and text assistant for applicants, and automatic interview scheduling.
Which of these your contract includes depends on the deal. Pin reports that scheduling is an add-on in the entry package, and that game-based and coding assessments cost extra at every level. Ask for a quote that lists each product and its price on its own line.
HireVue lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001 and FedRAMP on its platform page. If your security team needs FedRAMP, that narrows your choices a lot.
What does HireVue cost per interview?
To compare a yearly contract with a per-interview price, divide the yearly cost by the number of interviews you really run. At the $49,855 Vendr average, 2,000 interviews a year works out to about $25 each. At 10,000 interviews it is about $5 each. At 25,000 it is about $2 each.
With Goodfit, 2,000 finished interviews cost $10,000, with no yearly contract. At about 10,000 interviews a year, Goodfit costs the same as the average HireVue contract. Above that, a negotiated contract can cost less per interview, and Goodfit quotes a custom price above 20,000 interviews.
Volume is rarely steady. If you hire 3,000 people in the fall and 200 in the spring, a contract charges you the same in both seasons. A per-interview price follows your hiring. Run the numbers for your busiest and quietest months. Our AI interview software pricing guide walks through this for other vendors too, and our Paradox pricing guide does the same for Paradox.
Does HireVue have a free trial?
HireVue’s website has no free trial and no self-serve plan. You start with a demo. Pin reports that some buyers negotiate a 30 to 60 day pilot at a reduced price. Candidates never pay to take a HireVue interview.
What are cheaper HireVue alternatives with public prices?
These tools show their prices on their own websites. Spark Hire, Hireflix and Willo sell recorded video interviews, which is what HireVue is best known for. Ribbon and Goodfit run spoken AI interviews that ask follow-up questions. We checked Spark Hire, Willo and Ribbon on October 14, 2026, and Hireflix on October 16, 2026.
| Tool | What it does | Best for | Price | Source |

Who should still choose HireVue?
HireVue makes sense for large employers that want video interviews, assessments, applicant chat and scheduling from one vendor. It also suits teams that need FedRAMP and have a buying team used to multi-year contracts. If that is you, bring the Vendr average to the negotiation and ask for every product on its own line.
Where does Goodfit fit?
Goodfit suits teams that want to interview every applicant without signing a yearly contract. Goodfit calls each candidate or sends a browser link, at any hour, and asks follow-up questions based on each answer. You get the recording, the transcript and a score out of 10 for each skill, with the candidate’s own words next to each score. You pay $5 for each finished interview, and interviews where the candidate is connected for less than 2 minutes are free.
Skill tests, coding tests and cheating checks on browser interviews come with the same credit. There are no seat fees. Goodfit is SOC 2 Type II compliant, and ATS connections are set up during onboarding.
Goodfit is not the right pick if you need FedRAMP, or if your hiring managers want to watch recorded video answers. For a side-by-side look at features, see Goodfit vs HireVue. To see how a phone screen works, read about AI phone screening.
Frequently asked questions
How much does HireVue cost per year?
HireVue does not publish prices. Vendr reports an average contract of $49,855 a year across 5 deals, with the largest around $145,000. Pin, a competing vendor, estimates that the entry package starts near $35,000 a year. We checked both on October 16, 2026.
Does HireVue offer a free trial?
No free trial or self-serve plan appears on HireVue’s website. You start with a demo and a quote. Pin reports that some buyers negotiate a 30 to 60 day pilot at a reduced price.
Is HireVue free for candidates?
Yes. Candidates never pay to take a HireVue interview. The employer pays for the contract.
Does HireVue charge per interview?
HireVue sells yearly contracts through its sales team, not a public per-interview price. Pin reports extra charges when you go over the interviews in your contract. To compare with per-interview tools, divide the yearly cost by the interviews you really run.
What is the cheapest alternative to HireVue?
For recorded video interviews at steady volume, Hireflix starts at $75 a month billed yearly, with unlimited responses. For spoken AI interviews with no monthly fee, Goodfit charges $5 per finished interview, so it costs less than Hireflix in any month with fewer than 15 interviews, and nothing in a month with none.
How do I negotiate a HireVue contract?
Ask for a quote that lists each product and the setup fee on separate lines. Ask how many interviews the contract covers and the price of each one above that. Ask for a cap on price rises at renewal, and a short notice period. Bring the Vendr average of about $50,000 a year as a reference point.
