The AI listens to each answer and decides what to ask next

Goodfit hears the whole answer before it speaks again. If a question has two parts and the candidate answers one, it asks about the other. If an answer has no example or reason in it, it asks for one. A clear yes, no or number needs no follow-up.

The AI checks up to three claims from the candidate’s resume

With resume questions on, the AI reads the resume as the candidate joins. It looks for things it can test, such as “kept 95% of my accounts for two years”. It asks for the numbers, the dates and the candidate’s own part. A thin resume gets fewer questions, and no resume gets none.

  • Each answer is rated Strong, Average or Weak
  • An answer that disagrees with the resume is marked “Doesn’t match resume”

The AI repeats or explains a question but never gives a hint

Candidates ask the AI to repeat things, explain a word or just tell them the answer. The AI repeats a question that was not heard. It explains in simpler words when a candidate is unsure what a question means. It never gives a hint or a sample answer.

  • “I don’t know” moves on to the next question without pushing
  • If the line goes quiet, the AI checks that the candidate is still there
  • A candidate who asks to stop is asked to confirm before the call ends

Candidates join from a link on any device or take the interview as a phone call

There is nothing to download. In the browser, Goodfit tests the camera, microphone, speaker and network while the candidate reads the instructions. If the network cannot hold a call, the candidate sees what to try first. Candidates without a good internet connection can take the same interview as a phone call.

You choose the interviewer’s voice and the words it opens with

Pick a male or female voice in American, British, Australian or Indian English, and play a sample first. Write the greeting and the sign-off yourself, and the candidate’s name is filled in.

Goodfit can also score how well the candidate speaks

Turn on language scoring and each interview gets four more scores. They cover grammar, vocabulary, fluency and coherence, each with a short reason. If the candidate answered in Arabic, the scores are for their Arabic. They count toward the overall score out of 10.

The report shows what happened to each question in the call

Each question on the report shows if it was answered, skipped or ended mid-question. When an earlier answer already covered a question, the AI skips it, and the report links to the answer that covered it.   • Candidates are not asked to say the same thing twice
  • A question cut off by the end of the call is marked as ended mid-question
  • The report says when the connection was poor

Questions teams ask about Voice AI Interview

Will the AI give candidates hints if they ask?
No. It will repeat a question or explain it in simpler words. It will not suggest an answer, give an example of a good answer or share its own view.
What happens when a candidate says “I don’t know”?
The AI moves on to the next question without pushing. The question shows as Skipped on the report, so you can see which ones were left out.
Does the AI ask a question the candidate already answered?
No. If an earlier answer already covered a later question, the AI skips it. The report links the skipped question to the answer that covered it.
How does the AI use the resume?
With resume questions on, it reads the resume when the candidate joins and picks up to three achievements to ask about. It asks what the candidate did and what happened next. Each answer is rated Strong, Average or Weak.
Do resume answers change the score?
No. Resume answers are rated on their own. They never count toward the interview score or trigger a rule.
Which voices and accents can the interviewer use?
Male and female voices in American, British, Australian and Indian English. Each other language you turn on has its own voices. You can play a sample of every voice in the interview builder.
Does it work as a phone call without internet?
Yes. The AI calls the candidate on a regular phone line. They need no internet, app or computer. Camera checks only run on browser interviews.
How does it handle different accents?
Scoring looks at what the candidate says, and accent does not count. Pocketpills moved to Goodfit from another AI interview tool and found candidates understood its accent and tone more easily.
Can it score how well someone speaks?
Yes. Turn on language scoring and each interview adds grammar, vocabulary, fluency and coherence scores, each with a reason. They are judged in the language the candidate spoke.
Are interviews used to train AI models?
No. Your interviews, recordings and transcripts are never used to train models, by Goodfit or by its AI providers.
